Tradecopia connects to your broker or data-feed provider, not to the trading platform you place trades on. So the question that matters is not whether we support your platform, but whether your account is held with a broker or data feed we support.
You might need this article if:
You want to know whether a specific trading platform (such as TradingView or Sierra Chart) works with Tradecopia
You're not sure whether Tradecopia connects to your platform or to your broker
You use a charting or trading platform and want to know if your account can connect
You've heard that a broker is supported but aren't sure what that means for the platform you trade on
You use MetaTrader (MT4 or MT5), cTrader, CQG, AMP, or a dxFeed account and want to know if it works
What Tradecopia actually connects to
Tradecopia works by connecting to your broker or data-feed provider. That is the company that holds your account and provides your market data and order routing. It does not connect to your trading platform, which is the app you use to view charts and place trades.
Your trading platform sits in front of your broker, and Tradecopia sits behind it, talking directly to the broker or data feed. This is why the platform you trade on does not decide whether you can use Tradecopia. What decides it is the broker or data feed behind your account.
The brokers and data feeds we support
Tradecopia supports four connections:
Tradovate is a broker you connect to directly.
NinjaTrader is a broker you connect to directly. NinjaTrader accounts are Tradovate accounts accessed through NinjaTrader, so the connection works the same way.
Rithmic is a data-feed provider. You connect to it the same way you connect to a broker. What matters is that your account is Rithmic-issued.
TopStepX provides its own data feed and connection, and you connect to it directly. TopStepX was previously called ProjectX. ProjectX has been retired, and TopStepX is the current name.
If your account is with one of these, you can connect it to Tradecopia. If it is not, Tradecopia cannot connect to it, whichever trading platform you use.
Platforms and data feeds we do not currently support
Tradecopia connects only to the brokers and data feeds listed above. The following are not currently supported:
MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, and cTrader
CQG
dxFeed. We are exploring adding dxFeed support.
Alpha Futures' Alpha Trader platform, which uses its own data feed. We are exploring integrating it.
AMP accounts are supported only when they are Rithmic-backed. An AMP account on any other data feed is not supported. If you want to use an AMP account with Tradecopia, use its Rithmic version.
If your account is on one of the unsupported options above, Tradecopia cannot connect to it for now, whichever platform you use.
Your trading platform is your choice
Because Tradecopia connects to the broker or data feed, you are free to use whatever trading platform you prefer, as long as that platform supports the broker or data feed your account is on. A few examples:
A Rithmic account can be used on platforms that support Rithmic, such as Quantower or Sierra Chart.
A Tradovate account can be used on platforms that support Tradovate, such as TradingView.
A TopStepX account is managed through the TopStepX web app.
Which platforms are available to you depends on your broker or data feed, and choosing one is your decision. Tradecopia works the same way behind any platform that connects to a supported broker or data feed.
When the data feed matters, not the platform
Some platforms can connect to more than one data feed. In that case, whether your account works with Tradecopia depends on which data feed your account uses, not the platform itself. Rithmic is the clearest example: Tradecopia supports the Rithmic data feed only, so a Rithmic-issued account works, while an account accessed through the same platform on a different data feed does not. For the full detail, see How to connect your Rithmic account to Tradecopia.
How to confirm and connect
To check whether you can use Tradecopia, confirm your account is with a supported broker or data feed: Tradovate, NinjaTrader, Rithmic, or TopStepX. Then see How to add a broker connection to Tradecopia for the setup steps. If your account is with a prop firm and you want to confirm compatibility, see Is my prop firm compatible with Tradecopia?.
