Why isn't my affiliate commission showing, or why was it deducted or not paid?

What to do when a referral isn't appearing, commission isn't recording, a balance deduction was unexpected, or a payout hasn't arrived.

This article covers what to do when your affiliate dashboard is not showing a referral, commission is missing or incorrect, your balance was reduced unexpectedly, or your payout has not arrived.

You might be experiencing this if:

  • A person you referred isn't showing up in your affiliate dashboard

  • Your commission didn't appear after a referred user paid

  • Your account balance went down and you don't know why

  • You've reached the payout threshold but haven't been paid

  • You're not sure whether you earn commission when a referred user is on an annual plan

Your referred user isn't appearing in the dashboard

Referrals only appear in your affiliate dashboard once the referred user has made a paid subscription payment. Free trial users do not appear — and will not appear — until they convert to a paying subscription.

  • If they are still in their free trial: your referral will appear after their first payment. No action needed.

  • If they cancelled during their free trial without paying: no referral will be recorded. This is expected — a referral is only created once a payment is made.

Commission not showing after a referred user paid

If a referred user has paid but your commission is not appearing, check the following in order:

  1. Did they use your code at checkout? Commission is only recorded if your promo code was applied when they subscribed. If they signed up without entering a code, no commission will be recorded.

  2. Have they used a code before? Each user can only ever use one affiliate code. If they previously used any affiliate code — including the default TC code — your code would not have applied and no commission can be recorded.

  3. Was the payment very recent? The dashboard may take a short time to update. If the payment was made in the last few hours, check again after a little while.

If your code should have applied and none of the above explains it, contact the Tradecopia support team and we will look into it. Retroactive commission attribution is not a standard resolution and is reviewed case by case.

Your commission balance was reduced

The most common reason for a reduced commission balance is a refund. When a referred user receives a refund, the corresponding commission is deducted from your account balance.

Cancellation also affects your future earnings: because commission is earned on a recurring monthly basis, the cancellation ends all future monthly earnings from that user. If the user later resubscribes, the recurring commission does not resume — the original referral chain ends at cancellation.

If there are no recent refunds that explain the reduction and your balance was reduced unexpectedly, contact the Tradecopia support team and we will investigate.

Your payout hasn't arrived

Payouts are only processed once your account balance reaches the $200 minimum threshold. Commissions below this amount are held in your account until the threshold is reached.

Check your current balance in your affiliate dashboard:

  • If your balance is below $200: your commissions are being held until you reach the threshold. No action needed.

  • If your balance is at or above $200 and your payout has not arrived: contact the Tradecopia support team and we will look into it.

Payouts are sent via PayPal by default. Wise is also available. If you need to change your payout method, contact the Tradecopia support team.

Commission on annual subscriptions

Affiliate promo codes apply to monthly subscriptions only. Commission is earned on monthly subscriptions where your code was applied at checkout. Annual plans are not eligible — a referred user on an annual plan will not generate commission, and no code can be applied at annual checkout.

If a referred user switched from a monthly plan (where your code was applied) to an annual plan, contact the Tradecopia support team. This edge case is not covered by the standard policy and requires team review.
