Pro desktop is Tradecopia's locally installed plan. It runs as an application on your own computer, using your machine's hardware, internet connection, and IP address to connect to your brokers and copy trades.
You might need this article if:
You are deciding whether to run Tradecopia on your own computer or on a web plan
You want to know what the Pro desktop plan includes
You are wondering whether your computer needs to stay on while you trade
You are comparing Pro desktop against the web plans
You want to know which brokers Pro desktop supports
If you want a side-by-side of all three plans, see the plan comparison. For how the desktop and web versions differ at an architecture level, see the desktop vs web overview.
How Pro desktop runs
Pro desktop runs entirely on your own machine. When you place trades on your leader account, the Tradecopia application on your computer copies them to your follower accounts. A leader account is the account you trade on directly; follower accounts are the accounts that copy those trades.
Because the software runs locally:
Your computer must be on and running during your trading sessions. If the machine is asleep, shut down, or loses its internet connection, replication stops until it is back online.
All broker connections originate from your machine. Every API call to your brokers comes from your own computer and your own IP address throughout the session.
There is no always-on web version. Tradecopia is not running anywhere except on your computer, so nothing copies trades while the machine is off.
What's included in Pro desktop
Pro desktop includes the core Tradecopia feature set:
Copy group management with follower controls
Quantity multipliers and contract mode configuration per follower
Risk management — daily loss limit, daily profit limit, weekly loss limit, weekly profit limit, and trades limit
Position Reconciler
Prop Firm Consistency Calculator
Full broker support — Tradovate, NinjaTrader, TopStepX, and Rithmic
Broker behaviour is identical across Pro desktop and the web plans. There are no differences in connection setup, replication, or risk management by plan.

System requirements
Because Pro desktop runs on your own machine, your computer needs to meet the minimum requirements. For the supported operating systems and hardware, see the system requirements for Tradecopia desktop.
Free trial
Pro desktop includes a 7-day free trial for new customers. A payment method is required at checkout to start the trial, but no charge is made during the trial period. The first charge occurs only when the trial converts to a paid plan.
How to get started
Pro desktop is a downloadable application. To install it, see how to download and install Tradecopia desktop. For current Pro desktop pricing, see the pricing page at tradecopia.com/pricing, and log in to your account at the Tradecopia portal to manage your subscription.
