The Position Reconciler monitors every follower account and automatically exits any position that doesn't match the leader's current trade. It cannot tell the difference between an intentional manual trade and an accidental mismatch — it exits both. This is expected behaviour, not a bug.

You might be experiencing this if:

If every trade is closing immediately — including replicated trades from the leader, not just manual ones → this is likely a risk management issue. See Why do my trades close immediately after opening? instead.

When you place a trade directly on a follower account — outside of the copy group — the reconciler detects it as a position that doesn't match the leader. It exits the position immediately, the same way it would exit an accidental orphan.

The reconciler has no way to know the trade was intentional. Its job is to keep follower accounts in sync with the leader. Any deviation triggers an exit.

What you do next depends on how often you want to trade your follower accounts independently.

Use the replication toggle to temporarily pause copying on that specific follower while you trade independently.

This approach keeps the Position Reconciler active for all other followers throughout the session. The reconciler only stops monitoring the specific follower whose replication you paused — everything else remains protected.

Note: On Pro+ Lite and Pro+, the reconciler runs on Tradecopia's infrastructure and is always active regardless of your local app state. Temporarily disabling the replication toggle is still the correct method for occasional manual trades on cloud plans — the toggle pauses replication for that follower even while the reconciler remains running server-side.

If independent trading on a follower account is part of your routine — not a one-off — you can disable the Position Reconciler for that copy group instead of toggling replication each time.

Important: With the Position Reconciler disabled, Tradecopia will not exit mismatched positions, orphan positions, or unintended hedges on that follower. Any independent trades you place will persist alongside copy positions without intervention. You are responsible for managing the follower account's position state manually.

To reduce the risk of residual positions carrying into the next session, run Group Flatten at the end of every trading session before closing.
